Kate Nash has admitted that she and her boyfriend like to give each other fish as gifts. The next Kate Nash Do Wah Doo single is released later this month.

Nash, who is currently dating The Cribs singer Ryan Jarman, said that they have been building an aquarium together and are obsessed with exotic fish.

“We have really got into our fish. We go out every week buying new ones,” the 22-year-old told the Daily Star.

“We have a pink sucker fish called Tony and a shrimp called Banana Boy. You can keep shrimp, you know. You don’t have to eat them.

“We want to get more now but we’ll need a bigger tank.”

The singer also has a pet rabbit called Fluffy, who she claimed helped record her forthcoming album My Best Friend Is You.

“He came to the studio while I recorded it, but while I’m on tour Ryan looks after Fluffy,” she said.

Three years on from the release of her debut album, ‘Made Of Bricks,’ and Kate Nash has revealed that the name of her forthcoming second album is ‘My Best Friend Is You.’

Produced by former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, the album is set to see the light of day on Apr. 19 and will be preceded by a the single, ‘Doo Wah Do,’ a week earlier on Apr. 12.

Nash has been working on the album since last year and is understood to have joined forces with Bernard Butler in June 2009. The new material is said to be a departure from Nash’s trademark DIY sound to being influenced by girl groups, something that Nash puts down to maturity.
